La Loge du Massif: the taste of the sea
in the heart of the Alps

02 February 2026

An audacious kitchen that delights Courmayeur, blending conviviality, high-altitude charm, and Italian excellence.

We are in Courmayeur, at the foot of Mont Blanc, where the mountains meet a bold and surprising vision of dining. La Loge du Massif was born as the crown jewel of Hotel Le Massif, with a concept that unites two seemingly distant worlds: seafood cuisine and high-altitude gastronomy.

The refuge sits on the slopes of Plan Checrouit in the Aosta Valley and can only be reached by cable car, offering an exclusive experience even before arrival.

The restaurant inherits its name from the hotel, and its current management, explains Alessandro Sinisi, Head of Food and Beverage, has been operating since 2019, establishing a solid presence in the high-end Italian dining scene, with several prestigious venues across the country.

SanBenedetto FoodExcellence - La Loge du Massif: the taste of the sea in the heart of the Alps

The philosophy of La Loge du Massif begins with a deep respect for ingredients and a meticulous attention to detail. Every element, from the mise en place to the rhythm of service, is designed to guide guests through a warm, sincere, and at the same time refined experience.

The clientele is diverse and international: skiers and mountain sports enthusiasts, lovers of fine food and wine, families, travelers, and locals. All find an elegant environment where quality expresses itself naturally, recreating the convivial, welcoming, and sunny side of Italian cuisine, even at high altitude.

The culinary offerings follow the principles of seasonality and absolute excellence. The kitchen presents a contemporary and heartfelt vision, combining technique, taste, and pleasure, under the guidance of Executive Chef Simone Fardella.

What truly sets La Loge du Massif apart is the ongoing dialogue between mountain and sea. Seafood finds its place in an alpine context, maintaining the highest standards of quality and freshness. Direct relationships with Mazara del Vallo and careful processing methods ensure exceptional raw ingredients, enhanced with respect and precision in a rare balance.
We settle in amid the timeless elegance of wood and stone, overlooking snow-covered expanses, ready to enjoy our gastronomic journey at 1,700 meters above sea level.

We begin with a dish that evokes the Mediterranean through a delicate balance of land and sea. The violet prawn, sweet and briny, meets the creaminess of buffalo stracciatella and the freshness of yellow cherry tomatoes, while confit tomato adds depth and roundness, creating a luminous and harmonious composition.

The first courses surprise with a classic reinterpreted with contemporary sensitivity. Spaghetti aglio, olio, and chili is elevated by a tartare of raw tuna, adding freshness and finesse, creating a harmonious contrast between warmth and delicacy.

Next comes the gnocchi with Mazara del Vallo red prawn, soft and enveloping. A minimalist dish where the raw ingredient is the true protagonist. The red prawn bisque enriches it with its intense flavor, while the raw prawn completes the plate with an elegant, natural note.

The fried seafood is a mix of squid, prawn, and octopus. Low-temperature cooking, olive oil, and rice flour preserve the natural succulence of the seafood, delivering a tender and full-bodied result on the palate.

Desserts provide the perfect conclusion to our exceptional meal. Fiocco di Neve is handcrafted in-house, presented as three spheres filled with chocolate, pastry cream, and pistachio cream, wrapped in a delicate sugar coating.

Delizia al Limone pays homage to the freshness of Italian pastry. The dessert mirrors a lemon in both shape and aromatic intensity: lemon cream, limoncello sponge cake, and a refined white chocolate coating, topped with a fresh lemon leaf.

The wine list is an integral part of La Loge du Massif’s identity and serves as its calling card. Designed to complement high-altitude seafood cuisine, it offers a broad, curated selection of Italian and international labels. Special attention is given to the finest Italian sparkling wines and exceptional Champagne, enhancing every moment of the experience, from casual lunch to special toasts.

The choice of San Benedetto Millennium Water, with its millennial purity and elegance, reflects quality and care for the guest’s well-being, perfectly aligned with the identity of La Loge du Massif, discreetly accompanying the gastronomic journey.

At La Loge du Massif, every gastronomic gesture becomes an experience, surprising, yet perfectly balanced. In a unique setting like Courmayeur, the sea finds its place among the peaks, thanks to a clear vision, exceptional ingredients, and genuine hospitality.
