Boeucc.
Milan par excellence

08 April 2018

In the heart of the city, between La Scala, the quadrilateral of fashion and the home of Manzoni, the finest Milanese tradition is on the table.

Il Boeucc, “hole” in Milanese dialect, was inaugurated in Piazza San Babila in 1696. It is the meeting place for illustrious figures of the Italian Risorgimento such as Giuseppe Mazzini or for great artists such as Maestro Arturo Toscanini.

In 1939, the sign moved to the evocative stables of Prince Belgioioso, a charming building in the historic center where it is still located today.

After World War II, and especially since 1979 under the management of Paolo Brioschi, it has transformed into something more than a simple restaurant. Boeucc becomes the heart where the Milanese high finance players meet, the meeting place of the “after La Scala” par excellence, frequented by great entrepreneurs, designers and musicians of international fame. In perfect continuity with its glorious past, Monica Brioschi, daughter of Paolo, and her husband Marco Fuzier manage the oldest restaurant in the city proposing flavours of authentic Milanese and Italian cuisine.

Boeucc is a restaurant with a distinct personality, with an elegant and distinct style, intimate and romantic. The look of the room is at the level of the prestigious clientèle who choose this restaurant every day. The 174 seats are often occupied by illustrious names in economy, fashion and entertainment. “Ad hoc” service is reserved for regular guests: customers have their “preferred” table and waiters who know their tastes.

The cuisine of Boeucc has its roots in the culinary philosophy of historic Milan. In fact, in the menu the risotto with saffron pistils and traditional specialities stand out - now unavailable in other restaurants - such as the nervetti salad, grilled kidney and the delicate fried brain. Extraordinary second courses such as kid chops and Chateaubriand fillet.

A typical cuisine, rich in taste and strong flavours that combine perfectly with the balance of mineral water San Benedetto Antica Fonte della Salute Millennium Water. For Monica and Marco it is “…a bottle with an ideal design for an elegant table like that of Boeucc. A water that refreshes and satisfies the palate, perfect to accompany our traditional proposals par excellence”. Not by chance, Boeucc was the first restaurant in Milan to choose this format.

And if Antica Fonte della Salute Millennium Water is the star of the wonderful dinners of Palazzo Belgioioso, the Prestige Rose Edition line is the star at Bistrot Boeucc, perfect for those who choose a quick but classy lunch in the heart of Milan.

It is precisely during these lunches and dinners that the most delicate negotiations are discussed and often concluded. And the tables at Boeucc have always signed important economic agreements: it is customary for great entrepreneurs and executives to ask to be seated at a certain table because it has brought good luck in a previous deal. And in a remote soccer age, Boeucc was also the home of Ambrosiana Inter, the team from which AC Milan and FC Internazionale originated.

A little curiosity: it is not uncommon to host wedding proposals. Monica and Marco can boast of never having witnessed a “no”. After all, what better location than the restaurant adjacent to the house where they wrote “I Promessi Sposi”?
